We are removing the yellow alert for caution on Cyanobacteria blooms. There are no NHDES red advisories or yellow alerts for Lake Kanasatka effective at this time.
We ask everyone to please continue to monitor conditions in your area, and if you see anything of concern or significant changes, please notify the Rapid Response Team and/or the Water Quality Chair (links on Kanasatka.org website).
The lake was last tested Sunday, with low cell counts. We communicated the release of the NHDES red advisory status on 9/21 when the results of Sunday’s samples were verified, and our status was dropped to yellow alert at that time. Another sample taken on Tuesday was found to have relatively high cell counts, but has been considered an isolated occurrence and not widespread. We have not seen or gotten reports of any bloom accumulations in the past several days.
