The Kilnwood Loon Cam
Nest News: 6/9 – Loons have started mating on the nest. This is a good indication that they will be laying eggs and start incubating soon. Here is an 11 minute video showing the pair visiting the nest on June 8’th, complete with mating at 9:30 into the clip. https://youtu.be/M1DT6e_iKCc
This is a live stream of the Lake Kanasatka loon cam at Kilnwood. To get sound, unclick the mute button in the lower left corner stream frame. A full frame option is in the lower right. After watching for 30 minutes, you can continue watching by clicking the play icon.
The nest location is the same as in previous years, but there is a new camera, with night vision, and the images are transmitted 3/4 mile across the lake to a host with high-speed internet, allowing for live stream.
The project is sponsored by the Lake Kanasatka Watershed Association in partnership with the Loon Preservation Committee (loon.org).
A timelapse video of the previous day is available at this link.
