Patient watchers of the Loon Nest Cam reported on Thursday June 20th of the first loon chick hatching. A day later on June 21st that chick was seen swimming in front of the nesting raft and there was evidence that the second chick had hatched. On the following day both adult loons and two chicks were photographed swimming together.
The Kilnwood Nest Cam and Kilnwood Web will now go into resting for another year. It was great to be able to witness this year’s successful hatching. If you see our new loon family out on the lake, congratulate the parents but do it from a distance. They need their space.
